With the majority of our work being undertaken at night, in all weathers or what can be considered large bikes, we at Blood Bikes Cumbria require all our riders to undertake some advanced training with a recognised training scheme before they can be let loose on one of our liveried machines. Once they have successfully completed this riders then undertake an in-house training session for the use of Blue Lights and Two-Tone Emergency Sirens (which includes a training run) before they can be used on the road.
As a group we will testify to and promote the benefits of any rider conducting post-test training (including the chance of reduced insurance premiums), whether your interested in joining us or not, below are links to some schemes that we would recommend.
BikeSafe is a one day course provided by the Police Service around most of the country. It is designed to introduce you to advanced riding and make you think a bit more about what your doing on the road.
The Institute For Advanced Motorists (IAM) and Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) both provide full nationally recognised advanced riding and driving qualifications. Click the links below to find out more…..
